2007?? EX-650 ECU

I'm in the process of uploading an ECU from an EX-650.

Weird thing about this ECU is it has a type stamped Denso Part Label, not the normal mass produced printed labels. Stranger yet, it has a serial number. I know Because I got two of them

The last number on one is 07G001, the other reads 07G002.

Be interesting to see what the ROM says inside.

A guy I've been helping flash in the Dominican Republic said he had a friend in florida who raced EX-650s and wanted to know if I would do my thing to them. Next thing I know I get these ECUs from a Kawi Dealer in Canada. I tried to look them up on line and they come back as Australian.  confuse

It be kind of cool if they were some factory racing exotica on the other hand it would make them worthless for flashing the average guy's EX-650

BTW it is a 7052 MCU with a CN501 AUD port and the harness pins are labeled on the board so I should have no problem flashing it.

I've been told these are pre-production units. I guess that would make them useless as flash base maps. At least we know these units can be downloaded and flashed and exactly were the AUD port plug is if anyone wanted to download one with out destroying the unit.

Since I went to all the trouble to download them I'll go ahead and post the binary and prototype xml later today. Maybe someone will find them interesting.

hi, just got a full system for this, off ebay, and would be interested to know a little more. one little problem was the only wiring diagram for this bikes system is in spanish, or similar. so is a little help but a few unidentifies sensors and 3 or 4 diagnostic plugs. interestingly the system uses two boxes, ecu and other. also ecu has two plugs 18 and 34 pin.
i'd like to know if this uses a fuel rail pressure mesurement. even can it be used with more plugs and injectors ?
does it have a similar unit to fit other bikes, ie same chip but for 4 cy ?
what softwear would it be run, or reprogramed with?
and blimey what is the you have it connected to ? , how do i do that ...... can a piggy back system be used, and which ones will work ?

thanks.

I'm a little confused after reading your post. What exactly did you buy off of Ebay? and what are you trying to do?

As far as I know none of the denso units actually measure the fuel pressure. It assumes all the bikes use the same original fuel pump adjusted to a known pressure.

The device connected in the picture is used for reading the code out of the ECU so it can be modified and reflashed. You do not need to cut open every ECU to reflash it, just the first one to get the code.

You can edit and reflash the 650 ECU the same as the Busas.

I would go to the Busa section and read the older posts about how the 32bit version was originally hacked. It all applies to the 650. It will give you an idea of what is involved.

I'm not sure I know what you mean by i/f link. Are you talking about the AUD port for downloading the code? The software for the AUD depends on which hardware solution you pick.

Any progress on the ER-6 map download?

I have a Kawasaki Versys, which is a model based directly on the ER-6. I was wondering if it had the same ECU as ER-6 has. Here is the information from the ECU sticker:

Denso
21175-0204
112100-7200
12V TBCF0S

Does anyone know if this is the same unit?

Yes, I don't know how different the US bins are from the South African (EU??) ones.

I can post the ones I have but if you flash it and they are not compatible you won't be able to undo it.

I have the 21175-0100 which supposedly fits the following make/model

2006 Kawasaki Ninja 650R(EX650A6F (US))
2006 Kawasaki Ninja 650R(EX650A6FL (CA))
2007 Kawasaki NINJA 650R EX650A7F (US)
2007 Kawasaki NINJA 650R EX650A7FL (CA)
2008 Kawasaki EX650A8F (Ninja 650R)

**I don't know if CA is CAnada or CAlifonia
