ECU / Map Files

Here is the binary of a 2004 YZF-R6 Euro or Italian? version provided by Christian Piasini. The zip includes a text file with more information.

R6.04.zip

I haven't had a chance to look at the code or maps etc but will post more information when it becomes available

Here is what I found with a first look using IDApro....

The CPU MH7203F is suppossed to be a Hitachi H8/539F so I used the IDA H8/500 cpu model.

The .bin file is 128k  (0000:0000 - 0001:FFFF)  First problem is the vector table shows the start address as 0002:0000. So I re-loaded it  with a 0001:0000 offset. And it disassembles fine starting at 0002:0000 but the code now points to data at 0000:0000 - 0000:FFFF that isn't there.

The .bin is going to need to be split if it is going to be disassembled. The mem map should be

0000:0000 - 0000:FFFF Vector-Map data space
0001:0000 - 0001:FFFF Blank space
0002:0000 - 0002:FFFF Code space.

I will hex edit it and repost a 192k version later today.

Maps are in the first 64k and most if not all appear to use 16bit values and this is a Big Endian (Motorola) cpu if your going to look at it with analyze.exe

Hi,
I just discovered this board and let me say that I'm amazed!! Is there any news regarding the R6 ECU rev engineering?

I was analysing the map file attched to the first post and found some interesting areas, but, I think that analyze itself gives a clue but is not powerful enough to completa a map discover ... I think that it sould also let evaluate signed/unsigned datatypes and have a more powerful gradient definition (useful to discover tables with big datatypes but with small values inside).

I'm writing a similar tool with more options, if you have suggestions and requests please let me know!

Hi guys

Has anyone determind a factor and offset for this mitsubushi ecu. The rpm seems to be 3.906300 and 0.143700 for throttle position. Im trying to find the rev limiter in the file at the beginning of the thread. If i end up guessing its gonna be a lot of dyno runs:(
