KMS MD35 not working on motorcycles ???

We have had continuous problems in getting the KMS units working on motorcycles. It looks like with performance drag bikes (PSB class) that the unit can not recognize the reference point due to the starting rpm variations with high compression bikes. I can see on an oscillosscope that the crank signal pickup output is just fine and KMS management sw gives RPM on the screen - but no fuel injection or no ignition outputs.

Anyone on this forum have a working KMS MD35 on their bike ?

Any hints about getting the d**n thing working would be appreciated...

Have you tried using a 24v starting system to overcome the rpm variations?

We used a booster, did not help. ANyway got it working, basically there was three faults:
- ECU resets with low voltage
- Even shielded inductive rotor cable picks up noise from ignition and injection cables
- Gsxr1000 has 24-2 rotor which required some modification to make the signal compatible with kms (at least for this combo)
- I also had made a mistake when wiring the ignition drivers, that needed to be fixed for smooth running - but did not prevent starting.

Basically the KMS docs are not very good - took me three very long evenings to get it working. Basic things are not explained, a lot of assumptions need to be made when installing one.

Hello, first post here so be gentle biggrin............

I also have problems with getting a KMS unit to work on my bike.

Edit; never mind,we fixed it! It turned out to be the coils.
