Anyone done GSXR 600/750/1000 00-02 16 bit? Having problems :(

Ive been playing around with the ecu from my 00 GSXR750 for the past couple of months and I'm having no luck. I basically keep getting an empty file.

I have tried various PD BDM Interfaces making my own, none of them worked. I bit the bullet and bought one of eBay and it didnt work either.

THIS ONE: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360355871598

I have been using Psyche's free software and I have spent quite a few hours with him online chatting/trying different ideas but we still can't get it to work.

ive tried using different computers to rule out a problem with my LPT1 port. Ive tried different power supplies for my ecu. Nothing seems to work.

I think its a software issue. I have made a probe to measure the bdm pins on the ecu (led + resistor)

Maybe this can help determine the problem?

With ecu on, interface not connected
Pin 1=ON
2=off
3=off
4=off
5=off
7=off

With ecu on, interface connected but not plugged into lpt1
Pin 1=ON
2=ON
3=off
4=off
5=off
7=ON

With ecu on, interface connected & plugged into lpt1, computer idle
Pin 1=ON
2=off
3=off
4=on
5=LOW (4.52v)
7=off

When BDM Programmer opens, pin 7 changes to ON!, pin 4 changes to off. (this tells me that the ecu is now in BDM??)

If I press connect with no ecu type selected or suzuki baleno & it says ECU Ready! the outputs stay the same as above.

If I choose hayabusa ecu type, it stays the same as above except 4 is now ON. (this tells me that is has gone out of BDM??)
when i press connect pin 2,4 & 5 flash quickly once.
While reading Pin 2,4 & 5 flash on/off quickly.

My main question is, are these ecu's in the gsxr's different than the hayabusa/zx12 16 bit?

Is there any other free software available that works with PD BDM interfaces??

Thanks, Luke.

I have figured out my problem.

It is not possible to do GSXR750 01 ecu.

I have only just noticed after hours & hours of wasted time trying to get this to work. There are only tracks going to pins 1 & 8 on the BDM connector!!

No tracks going to pin 2,3,4,5,6,7!!!

This could be why nobody is replying to any questions anywhere about 16bit GSXR ecu's!!

Notice my ecu has a different plastic case than the earlier GSXR ecu's. It might not be possible with the ecu type only.

 Hi.
We can do the K1/K2 and K3 ecus, installed into suzuki without cut the ecu.

Check out the other thread. I put some details over there. I did that back in 2009. ;)

Hi Luke,

I've been doing some work on a K3 750 GSX-R ECU, and although there don't appear to be any traces to the BDM pads, these are indeed connected to the CPU. This is a multi-layer PCB and I have successfully traced all the BDM signals, but there seems to be some discrepancies with pin positions for the Reset, DSCLK and FREEZE signals. What pin positions are you using on your BDM interface? Tried sending you some emails, but never got a reply...

Hi folks,

We've finally managed to hack into a K3 GSX-R 750 ECU (32920-35FD0). I've started a new thread that specifically covers the (32920-35Fxxx) ECUs found in 2000-2003 GSX-R 750s.
