RE: And so it begins... work has begun on ecueditor v3.0

Every time I come in for a break from working on my bike, I see Justin is half a world away chugging away at software developments!
Just stay away from chugging away at 2 gallons of Coke a day, as other in your area of the globe tend to do.

Counting this latest download, I now have 12 versions of EE3.0 in my EE3.0 folder

Mr Woolich is one of the best developers i have seen. Incredible fast and sufficient!
I wonder where is Petrik to chime in and give a little boost here.
I am having a drag race the next weekend is there anything u want me to test on the dyno or on the track?

Justin , cant find it if it has been discussed earlier, is it possible to get single key operation for the likes of + and * , change to pg up/down or arrow up down or any of the unused keys

May use '+' AND '=' as the current '+' key.

For the '*' key, Justin has programmed the number keys 1 thru 0 (10) as percentage increments rather than just the '*' for 5% . I am not sure that all of them are needed, but they are all there.

We probably shoudl keep a running list of key strokes so that we can see what's there as well as foreshadow any issues that may occur with the use of one key or another.

Getting close to initial fire-up on my bike. Most of the point to point checks are done and I have pump prime on initiation (still connecting loose wires rather than having the switched mounted, but so far so good.

J, Update looks Great Sir! wink (You are a Programming Animal!)

One thing I wanted to bring up is the STP Map Cells. I'm Not Sure if this was done on Purpose and I am just Not understanding why?, But the Chart seems to Cut off @ 93 and does not go to 100(The rest of the STP Charts go all the way to 100).[video=]

I Think with Advanced as everything's becoming so Quickly, A Index or some King of a Function Key(s) Screen would be VERY Helpful! (Of Course this is Probably Not at the top of the To Do list? I am Certain Justin is Burning the Candle at Both End's!!! ) With that Said..........

You Are the Man J, Think most of us Feel Very Bad Cause We Can't Help You Code/Program..... I Know I Sure Do! cry Wish there was More I Could Do to Help You out Bro? So PLEASE, if there is ANYTHING(Money, Part's, Whatever?) I can Do, Do NOT Hesitate to Say it Here or even Shoot Me a email? You Rock Sir!

I was referring to a list for "us" to keep track of the functions first. Didn't really think of a menu pr screen option, but with teh list, it certainly would be a good basis for a menu or pulldown.

ToxSick that is the correct values for the STP opening map, values above 93% use the values in the last column.

If I get it fired up again...

I kind of hit a wall tonight and had to walk away early. Made a few simple errors on the never ending wiring and realized I needed to stop for the evening and go have a beer on the couch adn watch a bit of TV.

Wow I have been busy and not been on here in a few days and man have you made a ton of progress.

I have ran into a issue on a bike I am building and wanted to discuss it possible being controllable in the new version. I know the on the gen 2 you can set kill time for each gear can this be set up for the gen 1 in the new version? The reason I ask is I am building a bike with a 1-2 auto and need to disable the engine kill on the 1-2 shift and figure there will be others wanting this same feature as well as. Some use a 123 auto or a 1-4 auto so it would be great if we can set kill time for each shift.

The gen1 is a bit different. There might be able to be some differences programmed, but it is not like a gen2 as fara s gear selection. I believe the gears are paired in a gen1 (don't recall how).

My answer at the moment is, i dont know. i will log it in the issues register and take a look when i get to that section of the code ;)

Dam well John that means you need to get your conversion done so I can convert this one as well.

On another note I dynoed another gen 2 with nitrous today and it seems to go rich right about 10,000 just like the other one i did. The new version made need another way to add fuel or at least fine tune fuel though out the rpm range. I will post up the dyno charts tomorrow I am getting reay to leave the shop and the dyno computer is already shut down.

Hopefully it gets worked out soon. Might mess with it Monday evening.

I haven't messed with nitrous control / fueling for a GEN2. There are a few that have, but no big spray that I know of.

I just posted dyno graphs from 2 gen 2 busas using ECU editor for nitrous control. in the graphs you can see where they seem to go rich right about 10,000 rpm.

Yes i am making heaps of progress but i am just not at a logical place where i can release something that is working,

i am doing a total re write on the flashing routine at the moment as it was a wild couple of thousand line monster code function before, so i have broken it down into reusable chuncks and updated all the FTDI driver calls to better use the FTDI driver. I got it operational last night but i still need to improve how it works.

shoudl have a new release soon!

Justin, do you feel it will have a faster write time for the burn due to the "better" use?

While you are in that part of the code, previous versions would usually have a fast flash after only changing certain parts of the code, but a full flash with other changes. Seems a change to the fuel maps only would give a fast flash, but a change to, say, the boost comp maps would be a full erase and flash everytime.

John, I will see about looking into the Shift light Function as well. Hopefully I will get some time this week away from the "Hunny Do" list! lol

Hey John,

Yes i plan to continue with this partial flashing as well as full flashing, i would like to make it finer grained which would allow faster partial flashes... just depends if the ecu allows me to do it :)

Ok this is a bit of a milestone release for v3.0 This release has flashing enabled for gen 2 busa, i have basically re-written the flash routine from the ground up and made it cleaner and more efficent in places and generallymore maintainable and a bit faster as well

I am interested to get some feedback on this update

http://www.woolichracing.com/downloads/ecueditor.com3.0.zip

I will work on enabling Gen 1 flashing tomorrow night :)

Hi Phil

I have located where in the code this error is happening, after you close the error message do you still see the data grid with the map values?

Could you please try downloading the latest version of .net 4.0 just to eliminate this as being a problem...

Cheers

Hi Justin,

I tried Down loading the Newest Version of .net 4.0 and it just asks me if I want to "Repair 4.0" or "uninstall 4.0". I Selected Repair, But No Change! no I even went in and did all My Current Recommended Window Updates and I'm Still getting a Error Message(This is with installing EE 3.0, opening a New 3.0 K8 .Bin, and then opening the Fuel Table, also does it in Ignition Table as well)

Is anyone else having an issue??? This is Driving Me Nut's!!! hmm

I'm on a Brand New Toshiba laptop, Windows 7, 64 bit. The other Strange thing is even in EE 2.5 when I go into the Fuel Tables, the Cell's that have three Digits, on My Screen it comes up like this "2.." instead of Displaying "210" in the Cell ??? It's almost like there's a resolution Problem going on? IDK???

Justin, regarding thread about administrator rights to be able to co-run FDT with EE.
Dont know if its braught up but would it not be easier and more fun to incorporate a flasher in EE also.

Remember when looking at my m16c commands etc. it was not to big of a hassle. (maybe file converting needed?)
Same procedure covers many MCU from Renesas, m32c etc etc, but not m32r so dont know if that one in particular is harder.

Also, how far is work done on making it easier to incorporate other bins? How is this handeled?
What is needed so to speak, if i just can get the logic i can give it a try.
Would like to get fast-logging or regular logging working on my test 750 K7, else it will have to be the old LM-2 but want as fast update rate as possible :)

Thanks for all your great work!

Hi Twice, its funny that you mention this as this is exactly what i was working on tonight, i flashed a gen 1 busa ecu for the first time tonight :) and it really is not a very user friendly process so i was going to look at how to do it by just using the FTDI api directly. Do you have some more info on this as it should not be too hard to do with the right information.

Cheers

-Justin.

Sent you an email with the .pdf, too bad we cannot upload anything but images. Probably interesting for more people.
This is for a linux toolchain, but not good at linux i found it easier to write my custom python script than compile and use the toolchain hehe.
This only applies for R8C/M16C/M32C/R32C mcus but will probably be very alike procedure but different commands for 7052/m32r.
Im not too good at programming, yet it was easy for me to get connected, change bauds and send passwords and check status, firmware version etc.
Read and Write is just different command sent down the old FTDI-TTL.

Can see if i can dig up specs for 7052 and m32r, if you need it?

How about the implemention process?
Send me an email about it if you dont want to fill the thread about it.

Cheers!

I was thinking about the incorporation as well. If it is possible, it should lessen the issues as far as "true admin" vs "admin" in Windows 7 with the program automatically calling another program.

yeah i totally agree, just need to find the SH-7052 serial flashing insturctions so i can write the code into ecueditor instead of using the external app. Anyone come across this document before?
