Was just about to buy another laptop specificaly to take on the bike for logging, but thought I'd check back here first....glad I did.

I've been holding off ever since I read the thread last year about these things being made, but after a few recent issues I've had,
I've now gone back to my original base map and will be starting all over agian. Really looking forward to getting one of these.

Good work Justin.

The wait is finally over. In the coming weeks the new Woolich Racing Log Box will be here. We have decided to enable you to purchase the Log Box before they are available. The first production run is limited in number so click the "Add To Cart" button on the page link below and pay via Paypal to secure your log box first!

As soon as they arrive (around 2-3 weeks) we will ship your pre ordered Log Box out to you before we process any of the post release orders. Buy now on pre order to make sure you dont miss out.

Ordered it as soon as I got the facebook post. Will the add to cart option reflect out of stock once the first run is depleted? Very impressed with your work...Thanks!

Made some enhancements to the Log Box last night, I enabled the ability to set values in a configuration file to control when data logging begins. There are 3 settings

1) Number of seconds to wait before starting to log
2) Only start to log if engine is running (i.e. RPM > 0)
3) Only start to log when the engine coolant temperature reaches a certain temperature

These settings will be stored in a simple file on the micro sd card with a small utility to set the values, if the file is not present the default values will be used.

defaults will be: 10 seconds log start delay, engine must be running, 0'C coolant temperature

Thanks for your comments guys, i feel a bit of a sense of acheivement (and releif) getting this to market, especially when it is working exactly how i planned it to :) pretty funny to think that i had never really done anything with microcontrollers up until a about 18 months ago! Steep learning curve but well worth it...

Cool great stuff, let me know how you go, I did a release of ecueditor last night to support importing the .wrl log files directly from the log box, and there is also a new menu option which allows you to change to configuration of the log box.

The default logging configuration is

  • 5 second delay before logging starts
  • Only log when the engine is running
  • only start logging when the coolant temp reaches 75'C

all of these settings are configurable via ecueditor and the logbox.cfg file on the log box micro sd card.

Cheers

-Justin.

Just purchased Log Box (with my daughters Paypal LOL!) and downloaded the manual thanks Justin.

Dumb question number 1;

I note in the manual it mentions "flash mode" for the log box. Does this now indicate my existing boostbysmith interface can now be replaced with the log box directly?

As usual thanks for the log box I've been looking at other types of data logging options and this certainly makes my task easier.  biggrin

Yes, the log box will also flash the ECU.

The log box is essentially a full USB Interface (high speed) with flashing and engine data/fault code as well as the log box functionality, so you dont have to remove it when you are tuning, you basically log data, read it directly into ecueditor autotune, make the changes to your fuel maps, then flip the switch to flash mode and flash the changes, flip the switch back to data logging mode and you are good to go log some more data again :)

The log box does not have to be on the bike to show the .wrl log files, you just have to plug the usb cable in and if there are log files there you should see them.

There are some parameters that you can set to control when data logging starts, these are detailed in the user manual found here

http://woolichracing.com/Documents/LogBox_User_Guide.pdf

Can you contact me from the contact us page on the site with your email address as it is difficult for me to translate your forum name to your real name used for the order :)

All orders have been shipped currently though, so if you have ordered it is on its way, if you ordered with the Express Courier with tracking option i would have sent you a tracking number which would allow you to track where your package is here http://auspost.com.au/track/

If you chose a shipping method without tracking unfortunately i am unable to give you any updates on where your item is as i do not have tracking info ;)

Cheers

-Justin.

No numbers in the data log viewer in ecueditor? Open the Filters section and remove the filters, also make sure that if you are using wideband O2 that you have this selected and you have the correct 0v-05v values selected, this is done in the Data Logging screen.

Cheers

-Justin.

if you are using the auto tune and you have say 5 hrs of riding does it take all the log hrs and adjust the map from there
