2012-2013YZF-R1 Fault code


I re-flashed ECU 2013 YZF-R1 Japan domestic model, use flash tune interface and software.

When doing so, engine check lamp(orange lamp) is on and the error code 17 came out.

I check the service manual, error code 17 is EXUP servo motor potention circuit open or short circuit detected.

I'd like to eliminate error code.

Somebody help me.

I got wiring diagram for 2012- YZF-R1 japan model.

Does someone have a wiring diagram of the Europe model?

I open 13YZF-R1 ECU and read bin file via AUD.

ECU has 2 roms inside SH7058 and SH7055.

Read each AUD port.

Now, I have 2 bin file. and 1 problem.

This ECU is flash EUR data, but Error 17 came out.

Do you have the bin data anyone?

Or please tell me how to find part of the error code .

I'm really in trouble.

And sends the data if give me an email.

I found a EXUP controller.

Here is a datasheet.

And, found output pin.

ECU pin 9 ---- TA8050F pin15(M+)        TA8050F pin8(DI1) ---- SH7058 pin131(PA4/TIO3A)
ECU pin 16 --- TA8050F pin16(M-)        TA8050F pin9(DI2) ---- SH7058 pin132(PA5/TIO3B)

PA4,5 is Port A data register address H'FFFFF726

Next trying find EXUP sensor input port.

May be AN** I think.

But datasheet said it's through the resistance and bypass Diode and capacitor.

I can't find with tester.

At that time I read this thread carefly, I found!!

AUD RAM monitor mode use. input voltage and looking which ram address change.

orz I don't have USB-TTL interface. Is there a different way?

Or Could you analyzed someone?

What is/was the partnumber of your ECU?

Flashing a different region firmware doesnt always work on Yamaha bike.
There are differences not only in maps but in other sowftare switches that may through out errors.

And also be carefull with Flash Tune. It isnt the best software out there, as i have found problems in it.
I should contact the Flash Tune developers to correct them.

The part number is 45B-8591A-10.

A thing that is different I noticed later because starting from 45B.

Re-flash without checking well going, because 2009-2011 model was the same It is my fault.

I think the program is similar because EUR model and JPN model is same pin assignment , but different only EXUP.

compare the wiring diagram of Europe model and Japanese model.

In addition, Code 17 is displayed check lamp is lit after reflash, but engine is wake up and able to run!!

 

I also tried to take a contact Flash-Tune of course, reply'm not this many times I can send mail.

The Yamaha ECUs are the same. The difference is in the firmware that they run.
Flashing a firmware from a different region than the current one, brings problems.
For example reflashing a europe ECU with US firmware causes big problems at the EXUP circuit.
I believe that the same happened to your ECU. Be carefull if the components of the EXUP circuit in the pcb get hot.
If they get hot dont try to start or run the bike. You will burn the drivers. This is my 1 cent to your problems.
The solution is to reflash the ECU back to stock with stock firmware from your region and then test the EXUP circuit for burnt components.

I decided to read japanese model ECU binnary.
I have ordered a new ECU now.

How to upload binnary data?

I tried to back Now in possession of the data of the stock finally but it was still no good.

The PCB had broken?

It does not seem to be broken.... orz

Why is not there a way to only buy new ECU?

Is there a way around this?

Is it same problem with a new ecu? Not a key/immo issue when testing with new ECU?
Or is it a problem with flashing? Did you get the correct stock file for ecu hardware?
Above gets me a bit confused?

I bought New ECU.

New ECU is no problem.

I get stock file read from New ECU.

And flashing stock file to old one.

Old ECU back to stock, but still came out same error code.(error 17)     orz

There is no change even if I remove EXUP, or Mounting.

I tried to read ram memory with pyche's arduino code.

EXUP servo output I/O port FFFFF726 is 0xFF allways.

And I try to read A/D data RAM FFFFF800~, but no response.

A / D port seems that the settings for the external trigger, but I don't know what is the trigger....

 

And there is same probrem in onother bike (09YZF-R1),

I've found meaning that you had to say at last.

 PCB is broken Writing Stock file of USA to the JAP ECU.

I think I'm happy if EXUP error erase by program,even if EXUP unusable.
