I've just fitted a K8 ECU to my Roadrace Sidecar running a K6. Using WRT logbox, have removed stuff I don't want from the loom & have no fault codes. It fires up & will soon go to the dyno. Looking at a K8 ignition map it has more timing than the K6, should I load the K6 map into WRT & flash that into the ECU?
Leave K8 maps. If You will use better fuel then You can go with k9 1000 maps. It will work very well.I have done something like this and high CR engine has no issues with anything. Track days 1/4 miles and engine ran excellent form more then 10Kkm
You will have better throttle response with k9 1000 maps.

Why did you switch to the 08 ecu?. Also do you know what cam timing your running?
Here's the story, first tried running a Haltech PS1000 ECU, got it set up & running, ran it on the dyno, had to modify the crank trigger wheel as too many teeth caused noise, after 4-5 days in total had a nice power curve until 10k where it just revved & produced no more power. Found out the unit's inductive ignition can't cope with high revving engines running LS-1 coils. I have since purchased a Dyna ARC-2 CDI ignition unit to try, but had to get the bike going for the season, so I picked up a second hand K6 Em-pro & harness & fitted that. Surfing the interweb, I found ECUeditor & Woolich Racing, talked to different people about how the K8 ECU was better, so I've gone down this road for the time being. I think it will be a good thing when I get it on the dyno & set it up. I'll get the Haltech sorted out at some stage when I have time. This year has been hectic with a crash early in the season that cost me $12000.00 to repair, having to cut back on some meetings due to costs, & life. Did OK though, won our State & the Australian Championships. Need to go faster now to defend the titles!
Not exactly sure on the cam timing, my engine guy is a bit hush-hush about that, but we have 92 ftlb @ 9800 rpm & 174 hp @ 11500 rpm with stock top end with some stacks he made. I know he wants to try an inlet cam on the exhaust to get a bit more duration & a few slight tweaks as we need to keep our mid-range strong on the sidecar.
What CR are You running?OEM timing is very safe so You can use timing from k9 with higher CR.
Im running k8 wit 13,8:1 CR (wiseco pistons) with no issues on k9 ignition maps

I guess it's pretty close to your numbers.
