I have a 2006 gsxr 750. I am researching right now. please dont automagically say google. I have googl'ed and read and read and looked however i aim to spell out where I am so hopefully someone can show me what im missing. I am very skilled with computers and flashing firmware. mostly phones but old PDA's and such. I am used to TTL cables. SO far i've downloaded all three , ecueditior , woolrich , and romraider. ive added def files to romraider although those look to be mostly car stuff. I have read tons of posts here on the 750 and 1k page in the correct year ranges. i do not have a cable right now but want to make one. i know its the same cable for the 05 06 1000. the link in the ECU editor went to a no ip re direct which is now down. google'ed the page itself , found many posts that refrenced that old page but nothing solid. found a post on gixxer.com in the 1000 cc 05 06 bike section the very detailed photo one. read that mostly , not all due to it being 1000 looked where the wires went on his ecu , that seems to be the same re pinning the woolrich team wants you to do with their wire harness setup. i refuse to shell out that kind of money. I am use to doing things myself. I am not currently home, still in research mode before i start on my ecu. So, from what Im seeing mostly in posts here on these pages is that no one gives out the bin file for the ecu I have. I can not find anything online in refrence to that bin file. woolrich seems to have it but wants 100 bucks. they will all probably read this soon , but since its become a pain to locate a bin file i can download im just gonna say this now , once i have it , even if its from downloading off my bike , i intend to release it publicly if i have to make the cable and do this all myself the hard way. from the gist of what im seeing the hands on here who know what they are doing , are also the guys supporting the software that does it , not just the woolrich guys. so if i cant get everything sorted out with some help i fully intend to head long bull horn through this and release the bin off my bike , with or with out anyones consent. I am a full believer in open source open code open help to all , im willing to give anyone any information i have learned for free because thats how i learned it.
So , where i need more information , the cable , is supposed to be the same cable as the 05 06. the pic on gixxer.com fourm i found in detail appears to be a ttl 232R 5 volt. is it specifically that ? 5v , or can i use a 3.3 or any ttl 232r ?
I intend to flash on the bike, my bike is running rich and there's this dude with a 10.4 second camaro at the top of the list of people i run with. im 2nd on this list , this is why i need to tune ... i have a yoshi slip on cut lines and no baffle , i want to remove the mid pipe and cat and replace with straight pipe and i need to tune. i refuse to pay 200$ to a local shop for 2 runs and a tune only or send my ecu to a guy who is doing exactly what i could do. i have no intention of anything other than tuning my bike's ecu. i will not step on anyone else's toes after i have achieved that , All i want is to be capable of tuning my bike continuously in the future for further mods, >quick shift> tre > rev limiters > top end speed and such.
where should i start reading ? i have already read in depths on this page and google thanks in advance for anything more I can learn from anyone here
The harness for the earlier models is a Suzuki Type 3 harness and this is different to the later models. We do not support making your own harnesses and it will void your warranty. The reason for this is that we end up spending soo much support time when people stuff things up, they blame our software etc for the problem but then we find they have hacked up some harness themselves and that is causing the issue. So your best option is to buy a Suzuki Harness Type 3.

We do not support FTDI interfaces in our software for new accounts and have not for some time. They are just too problematic and require too much support, too much support means we cant work on new features and models.
Our newer interfaces can not be used in ecueditor directly, ecueditor has not been actively developed for over 3 years. You can however create a bin file in ecueditor and open it in WRT and write to the ECU, however for most models there are many more maps and settings in WRT and any of the bin files available in ecueditor are free so there is not much to be gained. The only 2 features that people still use ecueditor for are boost fuel for gen 2 and nitrous for gen 2.

So , i got the type 4 on bike harness , because the ecu is k8 , i see how to wire that up , half the parts for the plug are in , waiting on those other parts still in the post from another member* once i have a cross over cable built and can interface the k6 harness to k8 ecu , the wiring should match up im hoping , i was going to dig through pdf's for wiring pin outs to make sure yosh plus and sds are the same from k8 to k6 , but im tired and beer... So , the type 4 harness, what am i missing to get that to interface to my laptop ?

Hi, this is not really the best place and i am not the best person to ask about specifics of an order, please open a support ticket in our support system and someone in sales/shipping will be able to help you with your order inquiry, it will make it easier if you have a reference to your paypal payment, email is best. http://www.woolichracing.com/support/open.php
well im stuck , i finally got my other ecu in the mail , a 21H60 from a k8 1000 cc bike. I have googled as much as i can but i can not find the pins on the ecu. I can only tell a small amount of details from the smithabusa web site on his 300$ harness where the pins he use's are. and I got into the back of RR's bikeland site , even though he took down the outside , google index'ed the back pages and pdf's and files and IF you know what to google for you can still pull the files out. and what i found on his was a schmatic he drew up nice and neat but for a diffrent ECU number and not the ecu i am looking at. could anyone give me a lead on the 21H60 ecu's pins ? im looking for the power , ground , FWE, serial + and serial - , from what ive seen RR's schmatic is what i want to make however the pins on this ecu in the diagram i found I am uncertian if they are the ones I need to use and im not going to hook up power to pins without being sure they are the right ones. thanks ,
Should help, not personally tested though. But from this forum somewhere. For K7, if you want to be sure you should find power pinout and unused/programming pins in a K8 manual.
Twice ,thank you truely for the data you did post. I have actually emailed Petrik back and forth and he said he used diffrent ECU's so his data , which you also provided , Is not helpful in what i am trying to do. Unfortunately , i have a ton more data than what you have posted. However, I have agreed to a NDA in order to get said data. I can not repost most of what I have learned without two other people telling me that I can. However, i will post the adapter harness I have built. you can not see the pin outs or numerical values and good luck guessing as its like sixty plus wires lol. the previous upload that I made before NDA is my own work, from the k8 and k6 manuals however there were numerous mistakes that I made on the schmatic end when i drew it. which is how i know no one checked it , once i went back and reread the pin outs I saw numerous errors in it, trying to use that image is not a good idea.
I will keep researching until either contacts give me the pins and info I need or I find them myself. The design i went with is so that i can tinker with this k8 ecu while having my k6 stock so that I can always ride , even if i make a small mistake on the k8 i can always throw the k6 back in. but , my bikes in pieces right now on the back end so no riding until this is done.
thanks though I really appreciate your help
Unless i missed some posts i still don't know what we lost Petrik to, or if he just found other interests? But saad indeed, very sharp guy :)Did he mention why?
But, do you really expect any help when stating "good luck guessing" and such? Not that i am personally interested since i would rather tune stock ecu.I am no expert in any field, but try to guide with what i know. Clearly need to stop wasting my time. Good luck though!
