Kokusan Denki ECU for 2 stroke offroad bike

I have a Kokusan Denki ECU, from a spanish OSSA trials bike (TR280i).  It is for a 2 stroke system.  The company is out of business and I cannot locate a diagnostic cable.  I do have the software though.

I have seen pictures of the diagnostic cable.  It is 2 wires for 12V power (going to 12V power adapter that plugs in the wall) and 2 wires for signal.  The signal line goes to a small dongle with a USB connector.

I have seen on other postings that other Kokusan Denki ECUs use TTL for their diagnostic communications.

Rather than melting apart the ECU, what would be the safest way to try different signal protocols?  I am a little nervous to try RS232 or RS485 because of the large voltages involved.

For anyone who cares, here is some of the numbers on the case:

Kokusan Denki

OSSA p.n.5200030212

EC7102

s.n. 11H08E0221
