Entering '18 Yamaha R15 diagnostic mode


Hi,

I tried to make a tool to mimic official YDT tool to read Yamaha R15 engine data. But I cannot enter its diagnostic mode. YDT is using a  LIN Transceiver  TLE7259-2GE to communicate with R15.

When use YDT, it will send 0xFD @ 115620bps baud rate with 16ms interval. And detect a 250ms high (dominated by R15) and then a 25ms low from bike. After that, consequent communication will use 10400bps baud rate.

However, I made a kit which is same as LIN Transceiver as YDT, but still cannot make R15 sending out dominated signal. Anyone knows how to deal with this problem? Or is there development hardware I can buy from internet? In short, I want to make a tool to read R15 engine data without YDT.

hello im working on a similar project for a yamaha lc135 v1 but i dont have the YDS tool to help me
at least for my bike i know that it runs 2 SCI interfaces

sci0 runs at 9600 baudrate witch is used to enter in a "backdoor" mode by using a key to reflash, change registers,read data etc
sci1 runs at 15625 baudrate witch is propably the diag interface but ihavent found yet how to comunicate altho i had read the bin file and discovered the SCI1 interrupt handler
but im very new to this microcontroler assembly altho im not new to reversing in general.

at the end of the day you can use the backdoor access to read values from sensors and make a virtualy fuel table monitor to see what values your bike use also see rpm temperature map sensor tps etc
