ECM Spy

Not sure if you are familiar with the work done by the Buell guys, but here's a link to some of the ECM hacking they have achieved.

... now I just need to figure out how to climb into the Aprilia's Siemens ECM... either I make the bike faster or I lose weight... and we all know which is easier ashamed

Thanks for the links. I was hoping to develop something similar for the 32 bit ECUs used by kawasaki. They sell a KIT racing ECU thats programmable that physically appears the same as the stock unit. Just need to open one up and figure out the difference.

I have been using Teka for my gsxrs, and now ecmspy for my buell.
love the adjustablity.

I am old school, have been building, tuning my racebikes and streetbikes for years, love it when they run just right.

can't wait till I get the ability to further go into my gsxrs ecus, both my 1000S have modded motors, to different degrees.

and down the road, I would like to get a tuneboy for my Ktm 690, and play with the throttle ecu. I have some ideas, about the fly by wire, and its application traction wise I would like to try.

Yes, have used the buell system on a dyno. After a lot of problems to get the comms working, realized that it has very nice graphics on it - anyhow the amount parameters that can be tuned is minimal as well as the documentation describes a process that is very error prone. Map resolution is fairly coarse. They did also sell an autotuning feature just to be realized that it has never been tested. The dongle is bike specific making it expensive solution for a dyno station.

I hope they will get the easiness and quality up a bit for a commercial product like that.
