General Information ... ECU -> serial data -> gauges

Hi all,

i started to search for information about the different formats of serial data exchanged between ECUs and Gauges.

I'm familiar with Micro controllers and want to build converter for this problem.
(Currently: connect Gixxer K1 gauges to TL1000S with all function (water temp, error codes, ...))

I would like to invite you to post links and final results of your research here. So that interested people have a starting point for their conversion projects.

Start another thread for discussion please. And link to it here if appropriate.

Thanks, greeting from germany, (please excuse failures in grammar and spelling)

Dear Balze2,

welcome to the forum! I would like to inform you that i have made some progress concerning the same problem!
With the help of these guys here, Ridgeracer and Petrik i managed to make a program in VB.net and made the 32bit gauges to work! I then tried to program a PIC micro with the same code but i have some problems with it! I think that there is a communication error or an error in the checksum calculation! I don't remember exactly because i had other things to do! If you want i can help you with your program and get it finally to work.
I know what the gauges need to work and if we can build a dongle to transmit the data, then we can build another dongle to make the convertion from 16bit gauges to 32bit gauges. That should be easy enough if we build the first dongle!
If you need any info please come in contact with me!

I would appreciate any information i can get on this issue.
Could you please post your information in your thread  ( http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?aBID=99460&p=3&topicID=21041152 )

I read this thread and found something within your basic code you should give a try.

Thanks in advance,

Balze2 just now i realized that you where the one who replied to the other thread!!
In my "gauges" thread you will find all the info you will need and the code that i have till now! This is not really updated but the is nothing different till the last post. I am still in trial and error, coding and testing till i find the right code. I haven't tried your corrections yet but i will as soon as time allows me to!!
