R6 fly by wire

Hi guys

I have tuned a bunch of the fly by wire r6 bikes. They are difficult to tune because of the fly by wire. One bike i tuned was a real pain because the fly by wire was doing what it wanted from as low as 40 percent  throttle. Another bike i tuned had some sort of race ecu i presume. It looked the same but maybe a different part number. This only activated its fly by wire at around 80 percent and only for a short period of time. It was more like a one to one cabled bike.

Anyhow i decided to open the r6 ecu and dump the bins from the MCU,S . In one MCU i found all the regular maps and the other the content of the fly by wire. Now what puzzles me is the TPS axis in MCU1 is different to the TPS axis in MCU 2.  It seems the fly by wire is limited to 67 degrees or around 85 percent.  Im trying to find out if this is correct and may be it is the reason the r6 with the so called race ecu made 9 hp more than the other all else being equal ?

Hi, I would need to see some of theese maps to check possibilities for definitions and limites, do you have both dumps? If you would like me to help please contact me m.karasiewicz@gmail.com

I managed to tune them after spending some time defining most of the file in OLS.

The fly by wire maps give error code 16 after adjusting them. The ecu does some sort of a check and realises it has been tampered with and deactivates the throttle. I think it can tell because of how quickly the manifold pressure changes using a 1-1 fly by wire basis vs the stock maps progression.

Apparently checksum is on the way here, as said, i would need to see the files and prepare own definitions first and than we can conclude something

Its not checksum related . That is covered.

Tuning the r6 on the dyno will be easier once the fly by wire is turned into a 1-1 basis like a cable.  I ended up tuning it the harder way because the fly by wire modification was not possible.

The throttle has a fail safe so if the progression of the throttle (after modification) does not match the third CPU (that cannot be read so iam told) triggers off a saftey mechanism. Luckily i have found a tool to solve it. Once i have it i will re-read the MCU'S to see whats changed.

There seems to be limited stuff going on in this forum about the R6.
