I think the ecueditor software would beneift from having an online community help site as a central repository for all things related to using the ecueditor software. I have been thinking about ths for awhile and I have finally got it up and running.
It would be cool if we could logically structure this wiki to make it easy for users to navigate and work through the various parts that make up the software.
The intention of this site is not to replace the ecu hacking forums or facebook, its more of a repository to store all relevant information so users can easily find what they need without trawling through hundreds of forum posts.
I plan to link directly to pages in this wiki from the software which should make it really easy to learn about the software while you are actually using the software. So if we can keep this in mind when adding content and add one page for help per form in the software.
So for example I think we should have a help page for "Advanced Settings" with information about what each of the various settings actually does, and then we should have a separate help page for say "Boost Fuel" etc etc.
We could also have tutorials that explain how to do things across sections of the software.
Please sign up and contribute what you know to help make this a great resource for users of the ecueditor software.
The wiki allows you to upload screen shots and pictures, I have turned on moderation to ensure that the quality of the information being sumitted is high. so changes you make will only be available after they have been reviewed :)
Great idea Justin. Will give it a look when I get chance. Not updated my version for a while now, mainly due to the fact it's engine building season for me.

Justin I started working on something along these lines quite some time ago, but it never got off the ground. There is a preliminary file located here: https://bitbucket.org/sportbikeryder/ecueditor_docs/downloads/Fuel_Mapping_Overview_1-25-2010.ppt
ok great that looks like a good starting point John, we should probably set up pages for gen 1, gen 2, b-king and gixxer, there should be a fair bit of cross over but each of these models has some differences.
I made some more progress this morning, i have added help content for the main form menu items, and i have set up model specific sections to store help content specific to
Hayabusa Gen 1 Hayabusa Gen 2 GSX-R B-King
as all of these models have different forms and functionality available in the software.
So the plan is to add common help in the one place and add model specific help in the relevant section. You can see the Common Help and Model specific section in the left hand side menu.
i use this free program for editing the images http://www.getpaint.net/ works really well and is good for highlighting sections of the screenshots etc.
I added a bunch more content to the ecueditor.com online help, I have fleshed out the structure of the pages as well, will probably add some tutorials after i have finished help pages for all the screens
Not really sure how to contribute to this Justin. I was going to look into a few pages, and I suppose I could just start typing, but there is no way to know what others are working on or what is really on at all??
Hi John, what would be really cool would be some hands on tutorials from really experienced guys like yourself to assist people to getting up to speed with common tasks like tuning fuel maps or setting up for turbo and nitrous applications etc.
I dont mind finishing off the core help screen pages as i am on a bit of a roll at the moment with them.
I can set up a tutorials section tonight if you like?
i have turned moderation on so dont be afraid of having a go, if you have problems or stuff a page up I can just dismiss the change and it will not be made available ;)
I have a fair amount of travel to do next week. I should have some free time in the evenings though, I'll take a look.
So far it looks pretty good Justin. A bit difficult to navigate, but I think that will get better with time as more info is filled in and it will flow a bit better.
This should help to reduce the basic questions quite a bit.

Let me know if you have any ideas on how to improve the navigation to make it easier to find stuff
Trying to Write a Section on the Gen2 Nitrous Control Feature but can't seem to get My Screen Shot to load over to the Help Section???
Using "Snagit 10" Program, Converting the Screen shot to a .jpg File, Saving it to My Pic's. I can find the File through the Help Site, But when I hit upload it does Nothing? Does anyone have any idea's?
It seems to be an issue when trying to upload the Screen Shot into the Help Site/Program?
Should be ok, just check that the file size is not too big? i have uploaded quite a few images with no problems
And thanks for adding some content :) much appreciated
Thanks J, But I don't know what the H3ll i'm doing Wrong, The Pic is only 49.8KB in Size? It says you can upload up to a 10.0Mb file?? When I select My Screen Shot in the Bottom of the Page that I'm working on....... Nothing Happens, At All! I'm Completely Stumped on this???
Thanks J, where I'm getting lost is How do I get My Image into the "Load Page Attachments"? Is there a Certain Place in the Help Site I am Supposed to upload My Screen Shots to? When I Click on Load Page Attachments...... Nothing comes up.
I am Pretty Sure it's Just a Pretty Dumb, SIMPLE Step I'm Over looking! I'm just trying to get the Hang of this, as I've not done this stuff before but am willing to learn and Help out if Possible?
I am on a Gateway Laptop, Window's XP, Google Browser.
I am Using "Snagit10" Software(Freeware) to get My Screen Shot's. Still trying to get used to it(Kinda Confuses Me)? Whats the Best Way/File to Export the Picture in? (ie. PDF, Jpeg, Ect) Do you think I should be using something different?
