Hi guys, I tried posting on the Gixxer forum but my thread was immediately locked due to "lack of verification" of who I am.
I am in need of some help. Some low lifes tried stealing my GSXR 750 K8 last week and snipped some wires leading to the ignition barrel. So I disassembled the whole front end as I had to do so anyway to remove the cowl and to also expose more of the damage to the ignition barrel. After some reading on forums etc and following some threads Ridge Racer has contributed to also it seem they have snipped the wires to plastic immobilizer bezel. They have snipped very close where the wire route into the immobilizer bezel which has left me little room to solver the wires back up.
I have managed to solder the wires together how one of the wires leaving the bezel was frayed so much it literally had 3-4 hairs of copper fibre to which I had to solder to. I am sitting anxiously until the battery is fully charged before I can test whether Ive managed to fix it however what would be an alternative fix if this did not work. I have both my original keys and the rest of the harness etc seems fine apart from one red wire exposed which the lit a flame to assuming to "hot wire" the thing.
This is really giving me sleepless nights now as I cant bare the thought of cost related to replacing the whole ignition barrel, ECU and so forth.
Thanks in advance guys
