Kokusan Denki ECU read/write

Hello all,

I'm new to hacking ECUs but willing to learn. My project is Kokusan Denki ECM used on Arctic Cat 2018 and newer 800 cc 2-stroke snowmobiles. I searched and found couple topics about Cat's but none for this specific ECU type.

There's no numbers or tags of any kind on top of the ecu to determine what model from Kokusan it is. It is not exactly the same than on older 800 sleds with Suzuki engines, very look a like though. It is missing the map sensor (not mounted directly in the ecu anymore) at least from what I can see.

So far I have found out some of the pins to connect but I'm unsure to move on.

I have China clone Kess and Ktag but this (or any) Kokusan ecu is not supported by that equipment. Would it be possible to use some other protocol for the unit with Ktag? What kind of hardware would be the best for this job?

Pinout:

Ground: 27 and 33

+12V: 26

And there are pin 10 for CAN L and Pin 18 for Can H.

I would be very pleased if someone could direct me to the right path and explain what we are seeing here. I kind of know which wires to connect from Ktag but not so sure what method or protocol to use.

Thanks!

Anyone?

The ECM seems to be the same than the one in this topic: https://ecuhacking.activeboard.com/t64491717/kokusan-denki-ecu-need-help-will-reward/

Could it be Tricore? Does KTAG boot wire give ground or +?
